I am really enjoying your "visual" method approach to teaching a language. I find that I am retaining the vocabulary and grammar instruction almost without thinking. Nicely done! Oh, I also wanted to say how much I am enjoying your newsletters. I really liked the piece on Cinco de Mayo and how much of their culture was included. I jumped out to Mexonline.com, turned on Espanol Solo and now have an additional resource to practice my new language. Thanks again for everything. Your attention to detail really shines in everything your group is doing. I’m a new member and I am now more than half of the way through Level I Spanish. I like the fact that I can pop the discs right into car discplayer or pop them into the computer. I can convert them and download them to an mp3 player. I can listen to them on daily 40 minute daily compute. Then review lessons visually from my computer. I am now on Level II and have the Level II on-line interactive program to practice with games, flipcards, crossword puzzles, etc. The on-line PPT program (real conversational Spanish) is great, but I find that I will benefit more when I have gained more vocabulary with Level II. Level II is flying by. This is the second language I am learning. I am fluent enough in the other one that I don't have to think about what I'm going to say. I can't wait to get that way in Spanish. I recognize some of the milestones of second language learning, including suddenly catch snatches of conversation, knowing instinctively how a sentence should be structured because it just "feels" right, and knowing enough to know what you don't know! I have subscribed to the PPT program but find that I will get more use out of it when I have completed my Level II. I have reviewed Level I twice. I carry my discs in a bag with me to work each morning. I like that I can pop a disc in and out in the car and if I really wanted I could install them to my computer to convert to MP3 to download to my IPod. I always have a disc in the car so I can review whenever I want. I have a 20 minute commute so I get in at least 40 minutes of Spanish learning daily. I also listen while driving around doing errands on the weekend. I try to mix it up a little. Also I find that the background music in Level II does help me remember the vocabulary words better and I can use the Level II on-line interactive program to practice visually. That program offers a lot of different ways to learn, such as cross words, flip cards, games, etc. As an adult learner, I need as many avenues for learning Spanish as possible. I notice I am starting to recognize more and more parts of Spanish spoken conversations around me. This is the second language I've learned so I recognize the various stages of becoming more fluent.
