Day 10 of the Learn Spanish Challenge! Watch the video!

“Confidence comes not from always being right, but from not fearing to be wrong.” -Peter T. Mcintyre

Learn Spanish Challenge, Day 10
Basic Needs Section 1, Unit 7 Additional Practice:

Vocab Review
Vocab Review
Capital Defense
Visual Link Talker

Are you just beginning the Learn Spanish Challenge? Go to Day 1.

Although your Spanish knowledge may not be extremely high at this point, it is important that you be confident in your Spanish knowledge. I love this quote because I learned this the hard way as I was learning Spanish. When I was nervous and afraid of making a mistake, I would stutter and stumble a lot. When I spoke with confidence I did much better. I certainly made mistakes and learned from them, but I spoke with clarity and confidence. Don’t be so afraid of making a mistake in Spanish that you avoid success.

As Dave explained in the video, today’s Spanish lessons are a review of what you have previously learned. This is the final unit of the Basic Needs Section 1. There is a reason that “Additional Practice” was put into the course. We want to put what you learn into your long-term memory. We want you to remember what you’ve learned. Repetition leads to retention.

On a different note, I am looking for guest bloggers who will post a few sentences or a paragraph about what they’ve learned and how they feel after each day of the Learn Spanish Challenge. Email me at jake(at)spanishprograms.com and I’ll give you more information. Please put “Interested in Guest Blogging” in the email subject line. Since there are new people beginning the Learn Spanish Challenge each day, your thoughts and feelings will be helpful to them.

These videos are being posted on the blog under the category “Learn Spanish Challenge”. You can also watch the videos on our YouTube channel, and I post them daily on Facebook and Twitter as well.

Be confident. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes.

Day 9 of the Learn Spanish Challenge! Watch the video!

“Never stop learning. The moment we stop learning is the moment we stop living.” -Anonymous

Learn Spanish Challenge, Day 9
Basic Needs Section 1, Unit 6:

Tune Your Ear
Quiz

Unit 7
Click N Hear
Vocab Review

Are you just beginning the Learn Spanish Challenge? Go to Day 1.

I love today’s quote because I believe that education enriches your life. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a formal education, it can be whatever you’d like to learn. In this case, obviously, you are learning Spanish. Learning this beautiful language and working at it everyday can enrich your life and give you more of a sense of accomplishment.

Today’s video lasts about 10 minutes because Dave explains some new activities in the Spanish lessons which you haven’t explored yet. The Visual Link Spanish uses a variety of review games and methods to keep you learning and keep it interesting and fun. If learning is fun, then you are much more likely to stay motivated without being bored.

Basic Needs Section 1, Unit 5:

Virtual Instructor
Listen and Repeat
Virtual Instructor
Listen and Don’t Repeat
Sentence Builder
Advanced Game

Are you just beginning the Learn Spanish Challenge? Go to Day 1.

When it comes to achieving your goals, there is a time for talk and a time for action. It’s time to do a little less talking about your goal, and a little more action toward achieving your goal. I wouldn’t tell you not to talk, because I want you to be speaking in Spanish as much as possible. I hope you read today’s quote and you get the idea.

As Dave explained in the video, today’s Spanish lessons are going to take a little bit longer than normal. If you don’t have enough time to get through all of them, then you can do more tomorrow. We will not be posting new videos on Saturdays and Sundays. (We like to enjoy our weekends as much as you do.) You can use those 2 days to catch up if you have fallen behind. So, for every 5 days that you go through the Learn Spanish Challenge, there will be 2 days to catch up or take a break.

On a different note, I am looking for guest bloggers who will post a few sentences or a paragraph about what they’ve learned and how they feel after each day of the Learn Spanish Challenge. “If you think you can or you can’t do it, you are right.” -Ford

Learn Spanish Challenge, Day 7
Basic Needs Section 1, Unit 4:

Virtual Instructor
Listen and Don’t Repeat
Sentence Builder
Advanced Games

I love this quote because it is very applicable to goal setting and success. Success begins in your mind. Dave mentioned Mindbloom again. Did you sign up? Do you think it will help you achieve your goals and live a more balanced and quality life? I would love to hear your comments and questions about it.

Today’s video is a little bit longer than normal because Dave explains some new games and activities which you haven’t been through yet in the Learn Spanish Challenge. We want to make sure that you can focus on learning Spanish and not be lost at any moment.

On a related note, I am looking for guest bloggers who will post a few sentences or a paragraph about what they’ve learned and how they feel after each day of the Learn Spanish Challenge. Day 6 of the Learn Spanish Challenge! Watch the video!

“Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall.” -Confucius

Learn Spanish Challenge, Day 6
Basic Needs Section 1, Unit 3:

Review Game
Pronunciation Classroom
Bowling Game

Basic Needs Section 1, Unit 3
Memory Machine
Listen and Don’t Repeat

When you practice your Spanish, you will make mistakes. It’s important to realize that early in your journey. The important thing is that you get back up, laugh about it, learn from it, and keep moving forward. You can do it!

Dave mentioned mindbloom.com as a tip to help you accomplish your goals. You might think it’s a little bit cheesy, but I highly recommend it. I use it everyday as a task list to help me accomplish my goals. It helps me to see which areas of life need some more attention. I think it’s a great idea. It’s also great to take a few moments out of each day to be inspired by quotes and images with music.

On a related note, I am looking for guest bloggers who will post a few sentences or a paragraph about what they’ve learned and how they feel after each day of the Learn Spanish Challenge. Listen and Don’t Repeat

I really like this quote because it is very applicable to language learning. In the Learn Spanish Challenge we are not trying to fill the vessel, we are trying to feed the fire, which is the mind. This is not a cramming session that will soon be forgotten. We are here to help you become fluent in basic conversational Spanish and stay motivated so that you can accomplish the task in a reasonable amount of time. Keep the fire burning, keep coming back for more each day.

“Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly to get it started.”

Learn Spanish Challenge, Day 2
Basic Needs Section 1, Unit 1:

Review Game (Soccer, Lingo Dingo)
Virtual Instructor
Pronunciation Classroom
Bowling

Realize that you aren’t going to be perfect in the beginning. Remember that it’s worth it. Those 2 things are very important to your success in acquiring a new skill or achieving a new goal.  Watch for improvement in the mistakes you make. Let that motivate you, not discourage you. You have the goal to become fluent in basic conversational Spanish, and if you follow the “Learn Spanish Challenge” everyday, then you will achieve that goal.

These videos are being posted on the blog under the category “Learn Spanish Challenge”. You can also watch the videos on our YouTube channel, and I post them daily on Facebook and Twitter as well.

Follow the instructions given by Dave in the video, and you won’t be doing poorly for long.
