We encourage you to ask questions and leave comments. We like that because if you have a question, then it is likely that someone else has that same question. If you want to accomplish something, (and I know you want to become fluent in basic conversational Spanish), then you are in charge. Let nothing stand in your way.

Today Dave guides you through the 4th section of the Visual Link Spanish Level 1 course, which is grammar. You will be going through Unit 2 of the Grammar Section and will be learning important Spanish grammar, like the different ways to say ‘the’ in Spanish. There is also plenty of review with 2 review games, the Memory Machine, and Bowling. I also can’t stress enough the importance of the pronunciation classroom. You can learn all the vocabulary you want, but if you can’t say it right then it won’t matter.

Congratulations for making it to Day 18. We have done our best to make sure that you don’t hate every day of your training, but we can’t guarantee that you will love every minute of it. Sometimes work isn’t easy and isn’t fun, but we do it because it must be done. There are immediate and long term benefits of learning Spanish. Enjoy the short term benefits (satisfaction, growth) and look forward to the long-term benefits (satisfaction, growth, fluency, relationships). Those are just a few of the benefits.

Today Dave guides you through the rest of Unit 2 of the Survival Expressions section. He also gives you some advice and teaches you how to roll your r’s. This is something that will be easier for some than it will be for others. There are even native Spanish speakers who can’t roll their r’s. Keep practicing and more likely than not you will be able to do it.

Are you new to the Learn Spanish Challenge? Begin at Day 1.

We have created the Learn Spanish Challenge to help you accomplish your goal of learning Spanish. We realize that there will be a few bumps along the way, and that’s why there are 2 rest/review days for every 5 days in the course. This is an opportunity for you to catch up if you had to skip a day for one reason or another.

In today’s video, Dave gives you some motivational advice and encourages you to keep going. He also gives you a pronunciation tip about the ‘d’. The Spanish ‘d’ is softer than the English ‘d’. He also guides you through the rest of the first unit in the Survival Expressions Section and gets you started on the next unit.

On a different note, I am looking for guest bloggers who will post a few sentences or a paragraph about what they’ve learned and how they feel after each day of the Learn Spanish Challenge.
